Today is a day to explore the beautiful Kathmandu valley. Our tour guide will take into the Kathmandu valley for sightseeing. Where you will visit: Pashupatinath Temple, Bauddhanath Stupa, and Bhaktapur Durbar-square.

We have an hour's drive from to Sundarijaal from Kathmandu. Today our trek starts from Sundarijaal, the trail goes gradual up on stone stair passing through the stunning waterfall and we enter the Shivapuri-Nagarjun national park. Then the trail goes steeply up throughout the Tamang villages with the greatest view of Kathmandu valley. Then after we are walking into the forest spot and the wild boar. The trail will continue up to the ridge. Then we descend a little bit to Chisopani, overnight at lodge.

Today we have an amazing sunrise view of Annapurna range, Langtang range, Ganesh Himal and Everest range. Then we descend through the village and cultivated landscape to Parti Bhanjyang typical villages of different ethnic groups. Then we trek steep up through the dotted village on the hill and terrace of farming to the ridge with an overview of a valley. Once we arrive at the ridge, the ridge offers a great view of valley and Himalayas, overnight at lodge.

We follow path long passing typical Tamang villages again and climbing up to Kutumsang. From here we can see the spectacular view of the valley and Langtang, Gaurishanker, and then continue climbing through the pine, dense forest to Gagnigoth, overnight at lodge.

This is in the morning, we climb up to the viewpoint to see the sunrise over the Himalaya's then retrace to the guesthouse. Then we have breakfast at the lodge, our trek will continue walking through dense pine and rhododendron forest to Tharepati, we meet a trail come from Lauribinayak Pass. Now we start to descends on the rugged path in the rhododendron forest to Melamchigaun. We walk along the village and Monastery, overnight at lodge.

Best Time to Do Helambu Trek

The Best time for trekking to Helambu is Spring and Autumn, the Spring includes Feb, March, April, and May. The weather this month is stable and dry with a reasonable climate in the Himalayas. Trekking in this season is a perfect time that offers a crystal clear view of the mountains and sceneries every day, the Temperature can reach up to 12- 20 degrees Celsius in the daytime and the temperature at the nighttime can drop down to 7 degrees Celsius.  Secondly, Autumn (Post monsoon) is another best time of the year for trekking to the Helambu regionAutumn includes the months of September, October, November, and December. During the autumn, the temperatures should be rated as between 15-20 degrees in the daytime, and nighttime can decrease to 10 degrees Celsius.

 

Foods on Helambu Trek

Food in the Helambu area has a wide selection in the local tea house Menu. As we go higher, we might get fewer options to choose the food but still very convenient. Most of the tea houses in this region offers the best local meals like Dal Bhat and some bread, MoMo, and soup times alongside western food items like Macaroni, Spaghetti, Sherpa Stew, a variety of soups, steaks, potatoes items, Sandwiches, Pizza, rice with curry, spring rolls, Raman soups, burgers and Pizza, yak steak, desserts items, hot and cold drinks are available on the menus on tea house, the menu’s selected meals are fresh and healthy with hygienic specialists by the mountain for the mountain trekkers.

 

Water on HelambuTrek

The water on a trek is available at every trekking lodge or shopping shop along the way, buying a regular bottle of mineral water costs 1-3 USD per litter. Annapurna region has plenty of water sources to get the water as you can also refill the water from the random taps or water source, refilling waters from any of those sources is potable but it will be fine to drink with a Lifetraw or using the water purification pills – at least 2-4 L water per day is recommended to drink that keeps you hydrated.

 

Accommodations on Helambu Circuit Trek

Accommodations on the mountain are simple in tea hoses/ Trekking Lodges. The rooms come usually in double occupancy with a wooden bed, blankets, mattresses, pillows, attached bathrooms (not everywhere), and the view is spectacular from the rooms of mountain tea houses. Likewise, single rooms are available and they will be provided for solo female travelers.

Travel Insurance
