The Kathmandu Nagarkot day hike is one of the best short hikes for travelers who want to enjoy a beautiful walk in the outskirts of the valley.
The pleasant hike offers dramatic mountain vistas of Langtang, Dhaulagiri, Mt. Everest, and Kanchenjunga. Walking through the spectacular landscape of Nagarkot allows you to enjoy beautiful green forests, terrains, and farmlands and also discover the culture and customs of the Nepalese people.
The 1-day Nagarkot hike (Nagarkot Sunrise) with Alpine Ramble Treks is offered every day. The Kathmandu Nagarkot Day Hike starts at our hotel in Kathmandu. During this short scenic hike, we will not only enjoy the beautiful landscape but also prepare for the upcoming trekking adventure to the Himalayas.
This wonderful short day hike around Kathamndu Nagarkot serves as a warm-up for the bigger adventure and will help us stay in shape, build stamina, and acclimatize to the conditions.
After having a wake-up drink, our guide and car driver will come to the hotel around 4 am and take us to Nagarkot, which is about a 2-hour drive by private car. Nagarkot Hill, situated 32 km east of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2174m above sea level, is one of the most popular hill stations to view the glorious sunrise view of the Himalayas and its spectacular landscape.
After enjoying the view from Nagarkot Hill, we will walk downhill through the beautiful local villages, passing pine forests and terraced fields on the way to Changunarayan temple.
After our delightful visit to Chagunarayan, our driver will take us on a drive back to Kathmandu in the evening to shop and explore the tourist hub Thamel, followed by a nice dinner with typical Nepali cultural dances.
